DG Vanzara letter heat between Congress vs Modi battle

New Delhi: Many are questioning the timing of Gujarat IPS officer DG Vanzara’s letter as it came to light just a day after a freelance journalist tried to expose prominent BJP leaders for allegedly trying to shield Narendra Modi aide Amit Shah. The gloves are clearly off in the battle between the Congress and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi. The letter written by DG Vanzara, arrested DIG of Gujarat Police in fake encounter cases, will add to the growing ammunition for the Congress in mission Modi. The letter bomb comes a day after a sting operation CD was released by a freelance journalist casting aspersions on BJP leaders allegedly trying to influence the proceedings in the Tulsiram Prajapati encounter case. It shows BJP MPs Prakash Javadekar and Bhupendra Yadav allegedly planning to influence the mother of Tulsiram Prajapati to save Amit Shah.

“This is outrageous. We don’t take cognizance of all this,” BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad said.

But while the Congress is demanding Modi’s head this time around, the party is far from clear exactly to what extent the battle against Modi has to be taken. After all, when tapes showing Gujarat ministers allegedly colluding with state top bureaucrats and accused policemen to influence investigations in the Ishrat fake encounter case came out, the party didn’t take to the matter as it is taking now the letter, the battle for 2014 is fast turning to be an acrimonious one between Congress and Gujarat Chief Minister.
