New Delhi: It’s just four months since he came to power in Karnataka, giving birth to hope for the people of the state, but Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is already feeling the heat with his own MLAs raising their voices against him. According to well-placed sources, about 20 Congress MLAs in the state have written to the high command, complaining about Siddaramaiah’s style of functioning and and approach towards the ‘original’ Congress legislators. Siddaramaiah, who joined the Congress in 2006, has allegedly started ignoring the old Congress leaders to back his own people comprising new entrants. The displeased members have accused the chief minister of ill-treating them and slammed his loyalists. They alleged that some of the Congress members were running the state as per their own whim. 20 Congress MLAs have reportedly written to the party high command about the CM In the letter, the complaining leaders said Siddaramaiah is not interested to strengthen his party and is happy just to be the chief minister. They said he uses the name of the Gandhis whenever faced with any question from the not satisfied members. They also alleged that the CM was using public figures like intellectuals and writers to project himself as a popular leader. State Congress chief G Parameshwara has also openly criticised the chief minister for slowness in government work. Both Lingayats and Vokkaligas, two most dominant castes in the state, are unhappy with the chief minister and feel the candidates were more responsible for the Congress’s victory in the last assembly polls and not the chief minister. Siddaramaiah said he had nothing to say about the complaint. Opposition leader HD Kumaraswamy of the JD(S) cautioned the chief minister about the growing dissident.
