AAP gearing up to face re-election in Delhi

kejriwalNew Delhi: As the formation of government in Delhi seems harder, Aam Aadmi Party has formally declared that the party is gearing up to face re-elections in Delhi. AAP’s convener Arvind Kejriwal had also call to supporters to “donate liberally” to the party fund.

Arvind Kejriwal also announced its intention to launch its party in Lok Sabha elections in 2014. Kejriwal called on supporters and sympathizers to “donate liberally” to the party fund for the elections. He said that the party’s website was open for contributions.

Arvind Kejriwal, while addressing a massive gathering of party supporters at Jantar Mantar, said, “When we got the required funds from people ahead of the Assembly elections, we had asked people not to donate further. Now we have to prepare for fresh Delhi Assembly as well as the General Elections in 2014. This is not our fight but your fight and we can not continue this fight without your support.”

Kejriwal also said, “Earlier when we put donor’s names on the AAP website they objected to it saying that they might have to face the witch hunt of the rival parties. Now that the people of Delhi have posed faith in us, they are calling back saying that they have no fear from anybody now.”

He clarify that his party will not be pressured into trying to form government in Delhi and lashed out at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the single largest party in the new Assembly, for not doing so.

He asked, “If the BJP doesn’t get majority at the Centre, will they also not stake claim then?”

AAP founder also said that he will visit Ralegan Siddhi village to support Anna Hazare in Maharashtra on Tuesday and sit in the audience as a common supporter as the corruption crusader was against taking support from any political party for his movement. But due to high fever, Arvind Kejriwal is unable to go to Ralegan Siddhi.

AAP spokesperson Manish Sisodia said, “Kejriwal is suffering from high fever due to which he is unable to go to Ralegan Siddhi to support Hazare, who is on indefinite hunger strike for passage of Jan Lokpal Bill in the Parliament.”

Over the ongoing fast of hunger strike of Anna Hazare for anti corruption Lokpal Bill, Kejriwal said that he respected his sentiments and stand.

AAP also hinted that they might pitch Kumar Vishwas against the vice-president of Congress Rahul Gandhi. Kejriwal also demand for the support from their voters.

Kejriwal said, “We have a long battle to fight. The country has been doomed due to corruption by leading national parties. We need to clean the system at every level. You have supported us in the Delhi elections but now we need your support for the next big step.”

Manish Sisodia said, “If Kumar Vishwas stands for the Lok Sabha elections against the Yuvraj (Rahul), he will win it with so much support.”
