Lokpal Bill passed in Lok Sabha

ParliamentNew Delhi: A historic decision had been taken in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday in which the amendment of Lokpal Bill has been passed. The Lokpal and Lokayukta bill of 2011 which provides for the formation of anti-graft ombudsman.

Notify that bill was passed just one day before on Tuesday in Rajya Sabha.

Sushma Swaraj, Opposition leader in Lok Sabha, said that this session would become historical if the Lokpal Bill was passed. She also said that Rajya Sabha had done what the Lok Sabha could not do.

Swaraj supported the measure but attacked the Congress and said, “The people of this country and the old man (Anna Hazare) who has undertaken fast several times deserve the credit.”

Meanwhile Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi had urged to all parties to pass the amended Lokpal and Lokayukta Bill in Rajya Sabha. Rahul Gandhi urged to extend the session of Parliament for the purpose to pass the other important bill.

Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav targeted over BJP and Congress and said that both these parties are trying to prove that only these parties are honest and other parties are dishonest.

Notify that Gandhian Activist Anna Hazare had started its protest from 2011 for Lokpal Bill and after two years they got succeed over it. On this occasion, former IPS officer Kiran Bedi thanked to all the supporters for their support and all the members who are with Anna Hazare. She also thanked AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal who stand and give pace to the protest in Delhi.
