Binny expelled from AAP, sit on a fast at Jantar Mantar form todayNew Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party MLA Vinod Kumar Binny, who has been expelled from AAP on Sunday, will sit on a fast at Jantar Mantar which begins from Monday.

The AAP had yesterday expelled Binny, who had turned a rebel and had been criticising the party’s Delhi government.

AAP said in a statement that the disciplinary committee of AAP had decided to expel Binny as he had approached the media with complaints against the Arvind Kejriwal government.

It said, “This disciplinary committee has decided to expel Vinod Kumar Binny and terminate his primary membership from the party, for publicly making false statements against the party and its leadership, thereby bringing disrepute to the party.”

Notify that Binny had turned to rebel and has been criticising the AAP’s Delhi government. Binny is MLA from Laxmi Nagar. He had been criticising his party and the Delhi government for failing to fulfill the promises made in the election manifesto, including on water and power sectors.

Binny said, “Nothing can be more unfortunate than to remove a person who spoke about the problems of Delhi.”

He also claimed the government as dictator and said, “This (AAP) is a dictatorship. It’s not a surprising decision.”

Earlier Binny had blamed on Delhi government and said, “They made false promises about free water and electricity to people, and the decisions and rules they have made on water and electricity have made the people confused and have mislead them.”

He also added that AAP had promised Jan Lokpal Bill would come to effect fifteen days from the time they come to power, but nothing was being done about it.

“They had also promised to form a commando force for the safety of women, but there have been so many cases of crime against women in the past few days,” he added.

The AAP had countered his charges by saying that Binny was upset about not being given a ministerial berth in Delhi cabinet.

Meanwhile Arvind Kejriwal said, “We do not have to do the politics of saving the government and let him do what he has to.”

He also defended his governments working style and said, “None of the governments have done as much work as our government has done in one month.”

On issue of safety of women, he said, “There are many challenges that we need to address to in the capital right now, and I have already said it that Delhi is not secure, especially for women.”

However the main opposition party of Delhi Assembly, BJP had said that the issues raised by Binny are very serious and it needed introspection.

BJP leader Harshvardhan said, “The issues that Binny has discussed and made public, and the questions he has raised before his party are serious.”

He said, “The expulsion of binny from his party though is their party’s internal matter.”

Commenting on the recent Madhu Vihar rape case he said that Kejriwal needed to introspect, and answer the questions to these sensitive issues seriously.

Harshvardhan said, “I think he should introspect and answer these sensitive questions seriously.”

He asked, “I also want to know that the way AAP workers and Kejriwal head strongly protested to save their minister Somnath Bharti, why are they not taking similar steps for these rape cases?”

Another BJP leader VK Malhotra said that the BJP had its doors open to Binny and he could join them at anytime.

Malhotra said to media, “If he (Binny) comes to BJP, we will welcome him.”
