New Delhi: Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party today publicly admonished a legislator who has criticized the party for straying from its principles and threatened to launch a protest. Whoever wants to leave the party is free to do so, the AAP said in a statement, adding that there was no place in the party for those who nursed personal ambitions.
Vinod Kumar Binny said to Reporters, There is a lot of difference in what we have promised and what is happening. We are not going to discuss any party affairs in closed doors. We will sit on a hunger strike if there is no response from the party.
In response, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal questioned why Binny said nothing at a meeting of party MLAs on Tuesday. If there is any issue, we will look into it. You won’t find a government more sensitive than us. We’re open to criticism whether it’s from BJP, or anyone else, Kejriwal said.
Last month, Mr Binny had walked out of a meeting in which the AAP decided its members for the cabinet, but was reportedly talked out of escalating the crisis. After a long, late night meeting with two AAP members Kumar Vishwas and Sanjay Singh, he later denied that he was upset and said he was willing to serve the party in any capacity.
