BJP releases second list of Lok Sabha candidatesNew Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party released its second list of candidates for the coming Lok Sabha elections on Saturday. The Central Election Committee has cleared 52 candidates, including 20 from Karnataka.

Former Karnataka chief minister BS Yeddyurappa, an accused in the illegal mining scam, selected from Shimoga constituency. Former state chief minister DV Sadananda Gowda gets ticket from Bangalore north and Ananth Kumar from Bangaore south. The party, however, did not name candidate from Bellary seat.

The announcement was made after the party’s Central Elections Committee meeting in Delhi to finalise the nominations. The meeting was attended by all top party leaders including Narendra Modi, LK Advani, and Rajnath Singh.

Senior BJP leader LK Advani said there has to be due consideration and consultation before including new people in the list. The party will release its third list of Lok Sabha candidates on March 13.
