New Delhi: Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) is going to give the facility to their travelers to book their favourite seat for travelling in Indian Railways via e-ticketing format.
Some reports claims that Delhi would have the facility starting 15 August. It had also been assumed that this facility will benefit the travelers, especially on trains like Shatabdi. They can now easily choose the seat according to their choice and convenience.
This upgradation had cost the ministry about Rs. 100 crore.
Another reason for the Rail ministry to roll out this facility is to make it easier for women, and elderly people to travel. This will hopefully lessen the distance from the last coach to the engine, which a lot of people have to make due to non-availability of seats elsewhere.
