New Delhi: M Thambidurai, the Member of Parliament from All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) will on Tuesday file nomination for the post of Deputy Speaker of Lok Sabha.
Senior leader of BJP LK Advani, Rajnath Singh and Sushma Swaraj are among proposers of Thambidurai.
Thambidurai is the leader of AIADMK in the House. He was Deputy Speaker from 1985 to 1989.
Report claimed that Parliamentary Affairs Minister Venkaiah Naidu is in touch with Opposition leaders, including Mallikarjun Kharge of Congress to make selection of Thambidurai unanimous.
The election for the post of Deputy Speaker of Lok Sabha will take place on Wednesday.
