New Delhi: MLA of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from Delhi Jitender Singh Shunty had been attacked and shot at by unidentified person on Tuesday night.
Attacker had attacked and fired on Shunty outside his home but the MLA escaped unhurt while the assailant fled from the spot after the leader called for help.
Notify that the incident had been caught by CCTV camera at MLA’s home. The assailant is seen speaking to Shunty in the video after which he suddenly pulled out a gun and shot at the MLA a number of times.
He said, “When he started shooting I moved back and the bullet hit my door. I then ran to my neighbour’s house and he was still shooting at me. He must have shot at me at least 3 to 4 times. I have no grudges against anyone. Everything can be seen on the CCTV footage.”
Meanwhile Shunty’s wife had appealed for quick action and demanded that the assailant be caught soon.
DCP East Pushpendra Singh said, “We have registered FIR and investigation is going on.”
He also said that there were three rounds of shots fired at the BJP MLA.
