Flood alert in Andhra PradeshSrikakulam: The water level of rivers of Andhra Pradesh is rising with heavy rainfall in state. IT had left 300 people stranded.

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday directed Ministers and officials to take up prompt rescue and relief measures wherever necessary.

A press release from office of the advisor (communications) to government of Andhra Pradesh said, amid flood predictions for the coastal districts, the chief minister has instructed officials to ensure people are safe and evacuated, if required, from areas that are likely to face flood.

The District Magistrate of Srikakulam Gaurav Uppal said that incessant rainfall in neighbouring Odisha on Saturday caused water levels to rise in the Vamsadhara River.

He also claimed that all the concerned authorities are working together to deal with the crisis.
