Jobs soon for dependents of 1984 anti-Sikh riot victims: Punjab GovernmentChandigarh: It had been assured to the victims of 1984 anti-Sikh riots on Wednesday that Punjab government will soon provide jobs to them.

Sukhbir Singh Badal, the Deputy Chief Minister of Punjab had assured the wards of 1984 riots and terrorism victims that the state will soon provide compassionate jobs to them and instructed heads of departments to expedite the process in this regard. He also promised government job to Paralympics athlete Balwinder Kaur Noori.

These instructions had been issued by Sukhbir Badal after listening to the grievances of people at weekly Sangat Darshan programme.

He also issued instructions to give a government job to Paralympics athlete Balwinder Kaur. Kaur told the Deputy CM that she had won 15 gold, 4 Silver and 2 Bronze medals besides bagging the Bronze medal in World Athletics meet held in February 2014.

Sukhbir asked his Principal Secretary PS Aujla on the plea of Punjab Police Welfare Association to look into the problems being faced by the dependents of police officers who sacrificed their life during terrorism.
