Supreme Court rejected plea of Kingfisher Airlines

Supreme Court rejected plea of Kingfisher AirlinesNew Delhi: The Supreme Court had rejected the petition of Kingfisher Airline on Tuesday. The apex court had refuse to entertain the plea against being declared as willful defaulter as it said that it has become infructuous as the Grievance Redressal Committee of Union Bank of India had already passed an order.

The bench of justice AR Dave and UU Lalit said, “Your grievance has been, that Grievance Redressal Committee (GRC) should not decide the matter but they had already decided it, therefore your plea is infructuous.”

The Kingfisher Airlines had alleged that the order by GRC was passed yesterday, ignoring the plea that the director should be allowed to be represented through lawyers.

Bench meanwhile said later that the plea has become in fructuous; the airline counsel submitted that they would challenge the GRC order before the concerned High Court.

Notify that United Bank of India had become the first lender to declare Kingfisher Airlines and Vijay Mallya as willful defaulters on Monday.
