New Delhi: Customers of ICICI Bank can now withdraw cash from ATMs without their debit card and transfer funds to anyone in India, even if that person doesn’t have an account in any bank. All they need is a mobile number.
The fund recipient need not have a debit card or a bank account either to withdraw money from the ATM. ICICI Bank savings account customers can transfer funds. Only a mobile phone and verification code is necessary to take out money from the ICICI ATM.
The process of transferring money and receiving money has been made simpler through the use of verification code. If a person A wants to transfer money to person B, all he has to do is register the recipient’s name, mobile number and address via Internet banking.
The recipient can withdraw the money from the lender’s more than 10,000 ATMs by keying in the mobile number and the cash amount, along with the verification and reference codes. The bank’s customers can use the service to withdraw cash from their own accounts as well.
