Srinagar: A Border Security Force personnel who had been posted outside the residence of Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Omar Abdullah had opened unprovoked firing on Monday morning in Srinagar.
The jawan had been taken to custody however no casualty had been reported.
The police spokesperson said, “No one was injured as he was posted at the rear of the residence.”
Resident at Gupkar road said, “It was not a single shot. We heard firing and though it was a militant attack.”
The chief minister’ special security team immediately overpowered the jawan and handed him over to police.
Meanwhile Abdullah tweeted he is safe and that he has “full faith in his security”.
On Twitter, Abdullah wrote, “Not withstanding today’s incident with the BSF jawan stationed at my residence in Srinagar today I have full confidence in my security team.”
