#Baghdad: Sunni fighters who had opposed to the Islamic State had been attacked by a suicide bomber as they had been gathered to receive salaries south of Bagdad on Wednesday. Officials said that at least 21 people had been killed in the attack.
The attack on the fighters, known as Sahwa, near a military base in the Madain area also wounded at least 48 people.
It was unclear how many of the victims were Sahwa fighters.
Notify that no terror group had taken the responsibility for the attack, but suicide bombings are a tactic almost exclusively employed by Sunni extremists in Iraq, including the Islamic State (IS) group.
