Islamabad: The master mind of Mumbai terror attack Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi had been again arrested on Tuesday before his release following a suspension of his detention by Pakistani court.
An interior ministry spokesperson told PTI, “Lakhvi has been arrested in another case.”
After the order of Islamabad High Court, Lakhvi was set to be freed from the Adaila Jail Rawalpindi Tuesday morning.
The official said, “Lakhvi was then presented before a magistrate who remanded him in custody.”
Notify that Islamabad High Court on Monday suspended the government’s Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) under which Lakhvi was being held under detention, paving the way for his release.
Foreign Secretary Sujatha Singh summoned Pakistan High Commissioner Basit in New Delhi and the Indian mission in Islamabad took up the issue with the Pakistan Foreign Office.
Remarkable that Lakhvi was the operations commander of the Lashkar-e-Taiba and was charged along with six other in 2009, 26 November Mumbai terror attack case which claimed lives of 166 people.
