Lucknow: Raids had been conducting by Police of Uttar Pradesh to arrest leader of Bahujan Samaj Party Yakub Qureshi for praising and announcing the rewards of Rs 51 crore for the gunmen who attacked Charlie Hebdo’s Paris office.
Qureshi not only lauds but defend the French satirical magazine attackers and said that disrespect to the Prophet will invite death.
He said, “Prophet Mohammad had conveyed a message of peace to the entire world and if anyone makes certain cartoons on him, it will invite death like the cartoonists and journalists in Paris.”
Meanwhile after controversy, he denied reports that he offered a reward of Rs 51 crore to the attackers who killed Charlie Hebdo’s Editor and cartoonist of the controversial Prophet poster.
He claimed, “I have not made any such announcement regarding the attack in Paris.”
IGP (Law and Order) of Uttar Pradesh A. Satish Ganesh meanwhile sharply reacted on the statement of Qureshi and said that if anything like this has been stated then action would be taken by authorities.
He said, “In our country no one has the right to violate law and order. If anything like that has been stated we will take action. No one will be allowed to violate law and order.”
Notify that on one side the world is condemning the attack where gunmen opened fire and shot down 10 journalists and two policemen in Charlie Hebdo’s Paris office on Wednesday, Qureshi is making such comments which present negative image of India in global atmosphere.
