Sydney: In the second inning of fourth Test in between India and Australia, Australia had made a strong hold till the end of game of Day 4 with lead of 348 against India. The bowling and fielding of Indian part had disappointed in the second inning that cause Australian to play major shots in Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG).
Australian Batsmen Joe Burns’ 39-ball 66 and captain Steven Smith’s 71 off 70, ended the day at 251 for 6 after bowling the visitors out for 475 to take a decent first-innings lead of 97.
Virat Kohli was dismissed for 147 by Ryan Harris. Tail-enders R Ashwin and Bhuvneshwar Kumar played well for a 65-run partnership for the eighth wicket. While Ashwin (50) scored a half-century, Kumar made 30.
Australians had scored at a run-rate of 6.28 to sprint to 251 for 6 by stumps on Friday.
Opener Chris Rogers signed off his Test career in Australia with his sixth consecutive half-century of the series, scoring 56 after David Warner was dismissed early for just 4 by offspinner R Ashwin.
