New Delhi: Prime Minister and star campaigner of Bharatiya Janata Party Narendra Modi on Saturday blow the triumph of Delhi Assembly election in Abhinandan Rally in Ramlila ground of Delhi.
PM Modi had targeted both Congress and Aam Aadmi Party while addressing rally. He had attack at AAP’s chief Arvind Kejriwal.
While taking a jibe over Kejriwal, PM Modi said, “We need development here, not anarchy. They are good at dharnas… we are good at running government.”
Notify that this statement of PM Modi came in existence while referring that Kejriwal, then Delhi chief minister, had urged the capital to join him on a 10-day protest in the heart of the city, and declared, “Yes, I am an anarchist.”
Addressing the rally, PM Modi assured the people of Delhi of 24 hours supply of electricity. “We want to make Delhi free from generators. When that happens, Delhi will also be free from the polluted air,” said the PM.
Relating with the people on a personal level, Modi said that he hopes to provide every slum dweller of Delhi a house of his own by 2022. “This wish if fulfilled would coincide with India completing 75 years of Independence,” he said.
Modi while tooking jibe over AAP, said, “Punish those who left you behind, who abandoned you. Those who want to sleep on footpaths, sleep there, protest… they should be given those jobs. We are proficient in running a government and therefore choose the right people for the right jobs.”
PM Modi had criticized Congress for ignoring the plight of the poor. He said that the previous government had no will to work for the people. Citing the Jan Dhan Yojana as an example, the PM said that it was very evident who was working for the poor and who was for the rich. PM Modi said, “I feel proud in saying that around 11 crore people have opened bank accounts till January 10 under the Jan Dhan Yojana.”
Top leaders and Union Ministers of NDA government had registered their attendance in the massive rally including party chief minister Amit Shah as well as the chief ministers of Haryana, Jharkhand and Maharashtra, where the party captured power in recent elections.
It has been expected that Delhi will face elections in mid-February.
The national capital has been under President’s Rule ever since Kejriwal quit as chief minister.
