Thane: 3 youth had allegedly gang-raped a minor girl at Vasai in Palghar District. Police had arrested one accuse out of three.
According to the complaint of 15-year-old girl, three youths took her on a motorbike to a room at Navghar in Vasai at evening on January 5. They had raped her there, said Bhiwandi police station inspector Vijaysingh Pawar.
The girl resides in a village of Thane.
The girl, who was in shock following the offence, lodged the complaint against the three accused yesterday after being persuaded by her family members, he said.
Police had arrested one of accuse who had been identified as Ram Parvej of 22 years on behalf of complaint. He had been arrested at around 1.30 AM.
Police said that manhunt is on to nab the other two culprits.
Police had registered offence against the accused under section 376(D) (rape), 363 (kidnapping) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of IPC and section 3,4 and 5 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POSCO) Act 2012.
