Ayodhya: Main litigant Hashim Ansari had discussed with Akhara Parishad chief Mahant Gyan Das and proposes a new idea to resolve the Ram temple-Babri mosque Ayodhya dispute issue out of court.
Hashim Ansari proposal for the resolution of the Ayodhya dispute that they plan to put before the apex court.
The out-of-court settlement proposal suggests that the 70 acres of the disputed premises would accommodate both mosque and temple with a partition wall at a height of 100 feet.
Ansari has met Gyan Das, who is also the head priest of Ayodhya’s famous Hanuman Garhi temple, on several occasions to find a solution to the complex issue that has remained unresolved for decades.
The idea behind the plan is to find a middle path keeping in mind the sensibilities of both the Hindu and the Muslim communities.
Das after the meeting on Monday said, “We are drafting the final points of a negotiation draft, which will be presented before the Supreme Court soon after the hearing starts. We will be meeting the Prime Minister too to seek his cooperation.”
Sources also said that the proposal has been discussed with top Hindu religious groups and main spiritual leaders.
Mr. Ansari said, “After the draft is finalised, we will get it signed by all the top religious leaders from both the communities who are supporting our cause since the beginning, before submitting it in the Supreme Court.”
Meanwhile over the idea of Hashim Ansari and Gyan Das, Vishwa Hindu Paishad had rabbish it.
While giving Prime Minister Narendra Modi a May 2015 deadline to decide the vexed Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid issue, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has said it will otherwise again hold mass campaigns for construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
VHP spokesperson for Ayodhya affairs Sharad Sharma said, “The VHP doesn’t believe in trivialising the issue. We need entire 70 acres of land, which is dubbed as disputed because of the litigation filed by Muslims.”
Sharma said, “Modi has come to power because the BJP raised agendas of development and national growth. We didn’t want to disturb the government in the beginning. It was decided at a meeting of VHP leaders and important saints that the Centre should be given one year to take the country on the path of development and fulfill its other promises made to the people during the election campaigns. The saints will hold a meeting with the PM after May 2015 and demand that a law be enacted in Parliament to pave the way for construction of the Ram temple at the same site.”
He said, “We understand the eagerness of Hashim Ansari, the oldest surviving plaintiff from the Babri Masjid side. He keeps raising trivial issues out of sheer frustration. Now and then, he takes the help of Akhara Parishad chief Mahanth Gyan Das and comes up with a bizarre plan. Every time, Samajwadi Party president Mulayam Singh Yadav or his representative meets him and Ansari peacefully returns to his ivory tower. We really don’t care about his gimmicks.”
Notify that Ansari had proposed, “We understand the eagerness of Hashim Ansari, the oldest surviving plaintiff from the Babri Masjid side.
Meanwhile Das while referring to recent statements by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad on the issue said it was not a party in the “peace process”.
He said, “They just want to create communal tension between the communities…We are in favour of construction of both Ram temple and Babri mosque adjacent to each other but with a huge division wall of more than 100 ft in between.”
