Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi on Friday resigned ahead of trust vote in Assembly. Senior Janata Dal (United) leader Nitish Kumar, who was firm on making a comeback, will on Sunday take oath as the CM of Bihar.
Nitish earlier during the day emulated Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal as he apologized to the people of Bihar for his ’emotional decision’ to step down. I apologise for my mistake. Will never take such emotional decisions again and will always take the wishes of the people into consideration. We are committed to working for the development of Bihar. Me resigning as the Chief Minister was a mistake,” Nitish told a press conference here.
The JD (U) leader added that he had already staked claims to form the government and was waiting for Bihar Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi to invite him to form the government. Nitish also fired salvos at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and his successor Jitan Ram Manjhi , who resigned earlier today ahead of the trust vote in Bihar Assembly.
