#BJP #MP #BijoyaChakravarty assure to take up attack issue on #Assamese #student to #ParliamentNew Delhi: Bijoya Chakravarty, Member of Parliament from Guwahati and the leader of Bharatiya Janata Party on Monday expressed her concern over the attack on Assamese student in Amar Colony area of South Delhi. She assured to take the issue of thrashing of student to the Parliament.

The student, Arbaz Ahmed from Guwahati, is in hospital with fractures in his limbs and jaw. He was found trying to break the lock of a neighbour’s house, allegedly in a drunken state.

Bijoya Chakravarty said, “I will try to take this up in parliament, I will meet the Speaker and seek permission.”

She also said, “Police still has not arrested anyone yet, the complaint was not even registered properly by the police.”

Bijoya Chakravarty had also termed national capital as a ‘dangerous’ place for the people of the north east.

The uncle of victim however said, “There were three to four boys in the locality who use to harass him every day. On 4th March, these boys started saying a lot of absurd things.”

He also said, “He was sitting in the balcony, two boys came and hit him from behind and dragged him down the stairs, he started bleeding heavily and those boys got scared and started shouting thief-thief.”

It had been alleged that 21-year-old Assamese student was beaten up by locals when he was trying to break the lock of someone else’s house, mistaking it to be his own, apparently in an inebriated state.

Police have registered a case on his statement and further investigations are on. The CCTV footage of the area is being checked to verify the claims of both parties.
