After Kejriwal’s sweeping victory during the Delhi Assembly election, Nitish Kumar had met the Delhi CM outside Rashtrapati Bhawan and congratulated him. I congratulated him on his ‘jandar’ (rave) and ‘shandar’ (fabulous) victory. We will meet again and talk in detail,”Kumar had said when asked about the likelihood of a political understanding between the two parties.
The JD(U) leader infact was planning to canvass for Kejriwal in the run up to the Delhi Assembly Elections but dropped the idea as Samajwadi Party and Rashtriya Janata Dal — who are part of the Janata Parivar — have also fielded candidates in the Delhi polls, according to this report.
Notably, Kumar had his first official meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi yesterday and discussed issues regarding his state. This was the first time that the two leaders met each other after Modi became the prime minister.
