New Delhi: In a shocking incident, a lawyer was on Friday morning found dead in the Tis Hazari Courts complex in Delhi. Rajeev Sharma, 40, was found dead with a wound on his head near an eatery in T-Block lawyers’ chamber of the premises. Court staff found the dead body in the corridor of the building in the morning.
DCP (north) Madhur Verma said preliminary investigation has revealed that the victim was hit by a sharp edged weapon on the back side of his head. The body has been sent for the postmortem and a case of murder has been registered at Sabzi Mandi police station of North Delhi. Police has started scanning the CCTV camera footage installed inside the court complex.
Police said that Sharma’s body was lying on road, around 20 metres from his chamber No 30. Sharma’s hands and legs were folded and his forehead was hit by a sharp-edged weapon,” said a police official.

City lawyers have decided to suspend all work on Friday due to the murder of advocate Sharma in the courts premises,” said RK Wadhwa, chairman of the coordination committee of bar associations of all district courts.
