New Delhi: The extreme heat waves in entire country had killed over 1100 with 852 death had been reported in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
Chinna Rajappa, who holds the home portfolio, has announced compensation of Rs 1 lakh each to the families of the victims.
An alert had been issued by the government to doctors to be ready to provide medical assistance to the heat wave-affected people.
Coastal Andhra continued to reel under severe heat wave conditions. Jangamaheswara Puram in Guntur district sizzled at 47 degrees Celsius. Almost all deaths were reported during last six days.
Guntur district bore the brunt with 104 deaths, East Godavari accounted for 90 deaths, Visakhapatnam 84, Vijayanagaram 61, Prakasam 57, Nellore 39, Srikakulam 25, Chittoor 20, Kadapa 13, Anantapur 11 and Kurnool 8.
Not only in South Indian states but National Capital Delhi is affected badly by heat waves. Sweltering conditions persisted in Delhi, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha and West Bengal with temperature hovering around 45 degree Celsius in most places in these states.
