Colombo: Police of Sri Lanka has said today that it had arrested two persons for printing fake Indian currency.
Spokesperson and Assistant Superintendent Ruwan Gunasekara said that Crime Investigation Department (CID) on the received information arrested two persons on Saturday.
Police said that the two from the Colombo suburbs of Ja-Ela and Wattala were found to be exchanging fake Indian currency notes with genuine notes.
25 fake currency notes of Rs. 1,000 denomination had been recovered from first person and another 156 fake currency notes of Rs. 1,000 denomination from second person, said police.
