New Delhi: More than 200 workers of Aam Aadmi Party had been protesting against Prime Minister Narendra Modi led Central Government of NDA. These workers of AAP had been gathered at Jantar Mantar in Delhi and accusing the government of interfering in Delhi’s government.
The party is also opposing the NDA’s flagship Land Acquisition Amendment Bill.
Meanwhile, the AAP government is likely to adopt a resolution in the state assembly on Wednesday condemning the Centre’s backing of Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung. The party has been accusing the Modi government of trying to control the Delhi government via the LG.
Protesters raised slogans against the Central government and carried placards reading, “RIP Acche Din” and “Acche Dino ki Punya Tithi”.
“BJP president Amit Shah called a press conference and unsuccessfully tried to talk about the achievements of his government. They said that we have started the allocation of coal blocks and raised Rs two lakh crores due to that. Who are they fooling? The coal block allocation wasn’t their choice but their obligation,” said party leader Dilip Pandey.
Notify that Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal led AAP government on Tuesday convened a two-day special session of the Delhi Assembly and adopted the motion to discuss the notification issued by the Home Ministry which called the Lt Governor’s powers absolute.
Dissecting the notification, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia alleged that it was the complete opposite to what was stated in the Constitution.
Sisodia said, “The notification also questions Delhi government’s power to seek services from bureaucrats, encroaches on powers of Assembly.”
