#AAPGovernment to Present Its First #DelhiBudget 2015 TodayNew Delhi:  The Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party government on Thursday will present in the legislative assembly here its budget for the 2015-16 financial year. Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Manish Sisodia will present the first budget of the AAP government.

Terming the Delhi Budget 2015 India’s first ‘Swaraj Budget’ Sisodia ​said it was a matter of pride for him to be presenting the budget. In his Budget speech, Sisodia said, “We’ve taken into account expectations and aspirations of Delhi people while preparing this budget. This is a budget for ‘aam aadmi’.”

“We want to develop Delhi as a world class skill centre through way of this budget,” Sisodia added.

“Full statehood is not mere dream, we are raising this issue with centre regularly,” Sisodia said, and added, “We have made efforts and taken steps towards making Delhi the first corruption free state. We’ll make Delhi first corruption free state of India.”

Announcing that the AAP government had attempted to check prices in the state and taken steps against hoarding, Sisodia said that the proposed Delhi Budget estimate for the year 2015-16 was Rs 41129 crores. Compared to last year, this is an 18% rise in the state’s budget.

Sisodia proposed Rs 1690 crores for electricity and water subsidy.

The Delhi Budget 2015 is Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party government’s budget for remaining nine months of the current financial year in the Delhi Legislative Assembly.

The budget session of the state assembly began on June 23 and will conclude on June 30.

Going by the media reports, around two-three bills are expected to be tabled in Assembly during the eight-day Budget Session. In March, the Delhi government had presented a vote-on -account in the Assembly for April to June to run their several financial schemes and announced plan to spend a total of Rs. 37,750 crore in 2015-16.

In the vote-on-account, the AAP government had allocated Rs21,500 crore for non-plan expenditure while the plan outlay was around Rs16,250 crore.

The proposed non-plan expenditure is around Rs3,000 crore more than last year’s allocation while plan outlay would be Rs100 crore less than last year’s outlay.
