Poonch: Pakistan troops continue to violate ceasefire as fresh incidents of cross border shelling by the hostile neighbouring nation was reported in KG sector of Jammu and Kashmir in the wee hours of Wednesday.
“In the early hours of morning today (Wednesday), Pakistan army used 82 mm mortars and automatic weapons to target Indian positions on the LoC in Krishna Ghati sector of Poonch district,” a senior police officer told IANS in Jammu.
This is the third such violation of ceasefire by Pakistan in 48 hours in the same sector, the officer said, adding that no casualty or damage was reported from the Indian side so far.
According to initial reports, the Indian troops guarding the border retaliated effectively to the unprovoked firing by the Pakistani troops. No casualty has been reported as of now. This is the third incident of ceasefire violation by the Pakistan troops in past 48 hours. Further details are awaited.
