Patna: Reports on Tuesday said that Nitish Kumar will take oath as chief minister of Biharon November 20. The Grand Alliance or Mahagathbandhan of Nitish’s JD(U), Lalu Prasad’s RJD and Congress on Sunday secured a massive landslide victory in the Bihar Assembly Elections winning 178 seats. The opposition alliance, NDA, could muster only 58 seats.
According to reports, the alliance is likely to stick with the 4:4:2 seat-sharing formula between RJD, JD (U) and Congress. However, sources believe that RJD under the leadership of Lalu may press for the Deputy CM’s post which may go to Misa Bharati. Former leader of Opposition Abdul Bari Siddiqui’s name is also doing the rounds for the same post.
Reported that a meeting of the newly-elected MLAs of the Grand Alliance will be convened in Patna soon in which leader of the coalition will be elected. 36 ministers, including the chief minister, are likely to be included in the new Cabinet.
