Senior BJP Leader #LKAdvani’s Wife #KamlaAdvani Dies

#NewDelhi:  Senior BJP leader LK Advani’s wife Kamla Advani, his companion of over 50 years, died in Delhi on Wednesday.

Mrs Advani, 83, had been unwell for some time and had been admitted to the AIIMS hospital earlier today after she complained of breathlessness, sources close to the family said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was among the first to offer his condolences and pay tribute.

The LK Advanis, who have a son and a daughter, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2014.
Over the years, Kamla Advani was almost a constant presence by the veteran politician’s side during campaigns and functions.

Congress president Sonia Gandhi, who shares her wedding date with the Advanis, and former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah also sent condolence messages after her death.
