With Apple supposedly planning the next big refresh to their iPhone lineup for a possible unveil at their upcoming September event, speculations are rife. According to tech news website 9to5mac.com, purportedly leaked images of the device appear to indicate larger cameras, as well as redesigned antenna lines. The images first appeared on the French website nowhereelse.fr, and look to be from a Chinese source.
According to the leak, the iPhone 7 could possibly be based on a 5.5-inch screen size, and will have a dual-camera setup. From the photo, there appears to be a space between the two protrusions of the rear cameras, pointing to the fact that the phone could have some sort of stereoscopic imaging capabilities.
With the smaller iPhone 7 the screen size looks to be closer to the 4.7-inch form factor, and here too the camera looks to be larger than its predecessors while being aligned to the corner of the device.
The phone may also, for the first time, exclude the ubiquitous 3.5mm headphone jack, indicating that it could use some form of digital-only audio setup that is centered around the device’s Lightning connector on the base. There also appear to be two speaker grilles for stereo sound output.
With these being incremental updates their phone lineup, the next big phone launch is expected to happen only in 2017 in the ‘iPhone 8’, possibly being based on an OLED display first time.
