Lok Sabha Election: Bengal is with BJP, TMC's bullying won't prevent its defeat, says Modi at Buniadpur.Bengal: The high-pitched political campaign continued across the country on Saturday with leaders from several parties wooing voters for the Lok Sabha Election 2019. 

Both Priyanka Gandhi, the Congress General Secretary, and Smriti Irani, the Union Minister and BJP leader, will be in Kerala’s Wayanad from where Congress chief Rahul Gandhi is contesting the Lok Sabha election for the first time. Priyanka Gandhi will hold public meetings while Irani will hold a roadshow.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold four rallies in three states – at Buniadpur in West Bengal’s South Dinajpur, Bihar’s Forbesganj and UP’s Etah and Bareilly. Bihar Chief Minister and Janata Dal (United) chief Nitish Kumar will join the PM’s Forbesganj, which falls under Araria Lok Sabha seat, from where BJP has fielded former MP Pradeep Kumar Singh. In UP, the PM will be joined by state CM Yogi Adityanath. Kumar will also hold public meeting in Bihar’s Araria, Supaul and Madhepura.

Congress chief Rahul Gandhi will address three rallies – in Chhattisgarh’s Bilaspur and Bhilai, and in Bihar’s Supaul. Party leader Navjot Singh Sidhu address a rally in Maharashtra’s Shirdi.

Adityanath, who resumed campaigning on Friday after a 72-hour EC ban, will hold rallies in UP’s Moradabad, Farrukhabad and Kannauj. Union home minister Rajnath Singh will hold rallies in UP’s Jhansi, Jalaun, Raebareli and Hamirpur while BSP supremo Mayawati will be in UP’s Rampur and Firozabad. Lok Janshakti Party leader Chirag Paswan along with Bhojpuri singer Pawan Singh will hold a road show in Bihar’s Khagaria.

*PM Modi addresses a public meeting in Buniadpur, West Bengal. 

* Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray on Friday said that his party went into an alliance with the BJP because he wanted a Prime Minister who can attack Pakistan. “Shiv Sena wanted a Prime Minister who can attack Pakistan and so we went into an alliance with BJP,” said Thackeray while addressing a public rally in Aurangabad.

* “It is written in the Vedas that a government should be like a bhawra (beetle) which sucks nectar from flowers but still it blooms. The Modi government has become a leech that is sucking the blood of the common man. The common man can’t even stand,” said cricketer-turned-politician Navjot Singh Sidhu Friday.

* “He can speak but misusing his office is wrong. Several PMs ruled this country, several times India-Pakistan war took place. Nobody took advantage about that issue for personal benefit,” Karnataka CM HD Kumaraswamy on PM Modi speaking on Balakot airstrike in electoral speeches

* “I am being treated as if I am an anti-national or a traitor. They are treating me as if I am the biggest terrorist in this world. Had it been within the limits of their power, the administration would have openly killed me by firing a shot at me,” said Azam Khan while addressing a public rally at Rampur on Friday.

* “Deve Gowda is fighting on 7 seats in Karnataka and has ambitions of becoming the Prime Minister or an advisor to the Prime Minister,” says BJP leader and former Karnataka chief minister BS Yeddyurappa.

* Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam leader T T V Dhinakaran was Friday unanimously elected its general secretary. Sasikala, currently general secretary, would be elevated as president after her four-year imprisonment in a disproportionate assets case ends.

The move comes just a day after Lok Sabha and by-elections to 18 assembly seats concluded in Tamil Nadu and days after the Supreme Court had chastised the group led by former AIADMK leaders Dhinakaran and V K Sasikala for not registering AMMK as a political party.

* Nirahua Dinesh Lal Yadav ‘Nirahua’ will file his nomiation from Azamgarh. UP BJP President Mahendra Nath Pandey expected to arrive with him. Nirahua has been fielded against Samajwadi Party supremo Akhilesh Yadav.
* BJP candidate Bidyut Baran Mahto to file nomination from Bihar’s Jamshedpur
* Mahagathbandhan candidate Geeta Koda (Congress) will file her nomination from Jharkhand’s Chaibasa.
