#Nagpur: Taking the RSS over its chief Dr Mohan Bhagwat’s comment on ‘Hindu Rashtra’, AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi said the concept is based on Hindu supremacy.Lashing out at Mohan Bhagwat’s statement that the RSS is firm on its vision that “Bharat is a Hindu Rashtra”, Mr Asaduddin Owaisi took to Twitter on Wednesday and said Hindu Rashtra is a flight of fancy for the RSS.
“The idea of Hindu Rashtra is based on Hindu supremacy. It means subjugation of anyone who isn’t Hindu. Minorities will only be ‘allowed’ to live in India,” AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi wrote.
This came in response to RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat’s statement that “Hindu Rashtra” did not mean being “anti-minority”.
Noting that the Constitution mentions India as Bharat, Asaduddin Owaisi said Hindu Rashtra is a “flight of fantasy borne out of insecurities”.
Earlier, Asaddudin Owaisi had accused Mohan Bhagwat of having no faith in Indian democracy and ideals of chief Constitution-maker B R Ambedkar, who spoke about equality and justice. Asaddudin Owaisi had said the country is facing problems like farmer suicides, unemployment, economy slow down and price rise, but the BJP is busy raising emotional issues such as Article 370, Pakistan and Hindu-Muslims.
AIMIM national president Asaduddin Owaisi had on Tuesday hit out at Mohan Bhagwat for his statement that mob lynching was a western concept and it should not be used to defame India.
Addressing the Vijayadashmi function of the RSS at Reshimbagh ground in, Mohan Bhagwat had said lynching is a “western construct” and should not be used in the Indian context to defame the country.
He said the word ‘lynching’ does not originate from Indian ethos but comes from a separate religious text. Reacting sharply to Mohan Bhagwat’s statement, Asaddudin Owaisi said Muslims, Dalits and even Hindus have been victims of incidents of mob lynching in the country.
“Are these incidents not mob- lynching?” he asked. Referring to the 1984 anti-Sikh riots in New Delhi after assassination of then former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, he said they were also incidents of mob lynching. by agencies,
