Chennai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping on Saturday concluded their one-on-one informal talks at the Taj Fisherman’s Cove Resort & Spa beach resort near here. The talks in a room with a good view of the Bay of Bengal went on for about an hour.
The two leaders are currently engaged in the delegation-level talks after which they are expected to release separate statements of the outcomes of the two-day informal summit.

The informal talk held in a closed-door between the two leaders concludes after almost one hour. Modi and Jinping will now engage in delegation-level talks.
For the second day of the summit, the Prime Minister opted for a Kurta and Pajama, along with his statement Modi jacket. He had carried out all engagements on the first day of the summit in traditional Tamil attire, including a veshti, white half-sleeved shirt and angvastram.
Xi, on the other hand, wore a black suit without a tie on Saturday, signifying the informal nature of the summit.
Meeting between PM Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping is currently underway. Terrorism, enhancement of trade and maintaining tranquility along the India-China border among other range of issues are expected to feature in the discussion between the two leaders.

The Chennai City Police have announced that vehicle movement along Old Mahabalipuram Road will be curbed at 11 am. Vehicles heading towards the city and towards Sholinganallur can ply along the road between 10 am and 11 am.
Heavy vehicles, goods vehicles, light goods carriers and tanker lorries will not be allowed to enter GST Road (from Airport to Kathippara), Anna Salai (Kathippara to Little Mount), Sardar Patel road, Rajiv Gandhi Salai (OMR) and East Coast Road (ECR) between 6 am-11 am.

Chinese President Xi Jinping and PM Modi arrived at Taj Fisherman’s Cove Resort and Spa in Mamallapuram. The two leaders will engage in a one-on-one meeting, which is slated to last for 50 minutes. Following this, high-level delegation talks will take place between India and China.
Chinese President Xi Jinping’s convoy left for Kovalam from the ITC Grand Chola Hotel in Guindy. The convoy crossed along Old Mahabalipuram Road before heading on to East Coast Road (ECR).
