NewDelhi: Justice Nuthalapati Venkata Ramana took oath as the new Chief Justice of India (CJI) on Saturday. He was administered the oath of office and secrecy at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
The senior-most Supreme Court judge was sworn in by President Ram Nath Kovind as the 48th Chief Justice of India at a simple ceremony at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad were among those present at the ceremony.
