#26/11 key Accused #Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi, six other Gets #Bail in #PakistanIslamabad: Early reports say that the Pakistan government will oppose the bail granted to Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi and six other accused. The court said that Lakhvi was released on a technicality as there was nobody to oppose the bail since there was lawyers’ strike and complete chaos in the aftermath of the Peshawar attacks.

Lakhvi, a senior commander of the terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba, has been in a prison in Rawalpindi. Ujjwal Nikam, the public prosecutor in the 26/11 Mumbai blasts case says the news of the Lakhvi’s release is shocking. Lakhvi’s lawyer says there is no case against him.

On national television on Tuesday, in Pakistan, Saeed, one of the world’s most-wanted men, blamed India for the massacre of children at a Pakistan school and vowed revenge. Not a single politician in Pakistan condemned the remarks of the man behind the terror attacks in Mumbai in 2008, in which 166 people were killed.  Saeed’s threats come as India has pledged its support to its neighbour as it grapples with its worst-ever terror attack.

Sharif said there’s no good or Bad Taliban but clearly harbouring terrorists still ‘Good’ policy for Pakistan. This would have been the right time for the Pakistani establishment to act against the 26/11 terrorists including Hafeez Saeed since public sentiment in Pakistan in the aftermath of the Peshawar attacks are strongly against using state-sponsored terrorism.

The Indian government has sought clarity on the issue as it has reason to believe that the Mumbai terror attack mastermind is being handed various privileges that terrorism suspects ought not to be getting.  The query comes after Abu Jundal, the Indian handler in the 26/11 attack, was asked by the Delhi Police about his relationship with Lakhvi.

In 2012, Lashkar-e-Tayiba commander Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi fathered a child when he was in jail for the 26/11 attacks.
