Conflict between BJP and its ally Shiv Sena for Assembly Elections of MaharashtraMumbai: A battle had been started in between BJP and its ally Shiv Sena over one-upmanship for Maharashtra assembly elections which are scheduled for this year.

It had been notify that Sawantwadi MLA Deepak Kesarkar had been approached by BJP. Even Deepak had on Sunday announced that he was quitting the NCP and would be joining the Sena.

It had also been confirmed by Kesarkar on Monday that he had been approached by BJP with an offer to join the party.
He said, “Yes, I was approached by someone close to Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar asking me to join the BJP. However, I told them that it was not possible since I had already initiated talks with the Sena.”
