Karnataka government in controversy after paying Rs 1.16 cr medical bill of ministerBangalore: Karnataka government had generated a controversy after it had agreed to reimburse the medical bill of Rs. 1.16 crore of Karnataka Housing Minister MH Ambareesh. Notify that ministers are reimbursed up to Rs 5 lakh for their medical treatment as per government rules.

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had however cited “special cases” to clear the bills of Ambareesh. Ambareesh had been admitted and treated in the Mount Elizabeth Medical Center in Singapore. These medical expenses had also included the airfare of Ambareesh, his family and his doctors.
