Gujarat: Woman comes out of coma, identifies her attackers 4 years laterAhmedabad: In a story of determination and courage, Dimple Patel, a 26-year-old resident of Ahmedabad who spent a year in coma following a brutal assault, has now identified her attackers four years after the incident.

According to a report, Dimple was so brutally attacked with sticks and an iron wrench that she has now lost her hearing and can barely speak or walk. But despite the severity of the assault, the young woman came out of the coma and and has now gone on to identify the attackers in court.

Her brother Dharmendra Patel said, “The doctors said that there is a 99.99 per cent chance that she would not come out of coma. But we kept our hope alive. We wanted her to live.”

Dimple was attacked on 24 February, 2010, while she was going for her MBA classes in Ahmedabad, by four men who had followed her. The report adds that the family came to know the exact details of what happened to Dimple only once she awoke from her coma.

The report adds that Dimple was attacked by the relatives of her brother’s wife. She said news channel. The court should give them strict punishment so that they do not repeat this with any other girl. I have suffered, but others should not.

Dimple is now reportedly determined to finish her MBA and get a job. “Now I cannot hear, neither can I walk nor talk properly. Bad times can come to anybody and at any time. We will have to struggle and fight on,” she said.
