Sehore: On the eve of Independence Day,Fifty three children fell sick after eating food served at a government-run primary school at Balapur in Sehore district of Madhya Pradesh on Friday.
District project coordinator Ashok Paradkar said that the children, who had assembled for Independence Day celebrations, were given mid-day meal which consisted of puris. After eating, many children started complaining of uneasiness.
The children were later admitted to Ichhawar Civil Hopsital, while six of them, whose condition was serious, were sent to Sehore district hospital.
The district education department has cancelled the license of the NGO which supplied the food.
