Telangana CM threaten media to bury ten feet under the earthWarangal: K Chandrasekhar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana had generated controversy after threatening media on Tuesday. Rao said that he will “bury” the media “under ten feet in the earth” if they continue to “insult” Telangana. He also demanded that newly formed state Telangana “must be respected”.

After garlanding a statue of renown poet and literary critic Kaloji Narayana Rao commemorating his birth centenary, he addressed a gathering and said, “Those who insult Telangana, its existence and prestige, will be buried 10 feet under the earth.”

Former Union Minister and senior Congress leader Renuka Chowdhary had slammed the statement of KCR and said, “He has a false sense of grandeur and has no clue about governance.”

KCR’s statement came close on the heels of the Association of Telangana Multiple System Operators (cable TV operators) blocking the transmission of TV channels ABN Andhra Jyothi and TV 9 since June 16, alleging that they had aired programmes “denigrating the Telangana dialect, sentiment and feelings” of the people of the state.

KCR said, “I salute multiple system operators who stopped transmission of the two television channels. If they (TV channels) do not mend their attitude, I will teach them a lesson.”
