Nurse, who treated Nirbhaya alleges gangrape in PunjabChandigarh: A nurse, who is posted at Safdarjung hospital and had treated December 16 gangrape victim Nirbhaya was gangraped in Budhlada town of Mansa district of Punjab on Monday said today. As per reports, the shameful incident happened on Monday in Budhlada town of Punjab.

The 33-year-old woman was allegedly raped whole night inside a tubewell shed in the Gurna village.

Police have registered a case under Section 376 of IPC and arrested two accused – Balwinder Singh Kala and Manwinder – in connection with the case. Strangely, the woman has refused to undergo medical test.

The incident happened after she was picked up by her friend’s husband from Budhlada railway station and taken to an isolated place. She was gang-raped there and taken back to the railway station. When she tried to raise an alarm at the station the accused fled.

The Delhi based-nurse was part of the team of doctors, who treated 23-year-old trainee physiotherapist, who was brutally gang-raped inside a moving bus in the national capital by six people on December 16, 2012.

‘Nirbhaya’ was initially admitted at Safdarjung hospital and later shifted to Singapore for further treatment. Unfortunately, due to grievous injuries the ‘Delhi braveheart’ lost her life in Singapore hospital.

The two accused — Balwiner Singh Kala and Manwinder — have been arrested by police on Tuesday night and a case has been registered under Section 376 of IPC.   A senior police official informed that investigation is on and they are trying to nab two other accused which includes one elderly person also.
