BJP takes on Bilawal, asks him to focus on burning issues of PakNew Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party today urged Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) co-chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to concentrate on the burning issues affecting Pakistan, rather than climbing onto various platforms to demand the Indian side of Jammu and Kashmir for his country.

Giving his response to the heckling of Bhutto during Sunday’s ‘Million March’ in London over the Kashmir issue, BJP spokesman Nalin Kohli on Monday said, “The march itself was misplaced. There was no need for a march. But Pakistan always seeks to somehow try to internationalise the Kashmir issue.

They would have probably done better and served the people of Pakistan better, if Mr Bhutto had marched on women’s education in Pakistan, polio eradication in Pakistan, terrorist eradication from Pakistan. These are the more burning issues of Pakistan,” he added.

The crowd began booing and throwing empty plastic bottles and refused to let Bilawal speak. A group of angry protesters, who had travelled from Derby in the East Midlands region of England, said this march was to be about Kashmir and for the welfare of Kashmiris, adding that Bilawal has no business being here.

The march, led by Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry, referred to as former prime minister of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), was supported by British Parliamentarian Lord Nazir Ahmed of Rotherham.

A counter-protest held by a rival group yesterday ended with memorandums submitted for the Prime Ministers of India and Pakistan at their High Commissions in London. The memorandums urged both New Delhi and Islamabad to ‘respect the fundamental human rights of all citizens of Jammu and Kashmir ‘.
