Intelligence agencies warn Pak terrorists may carry out attack on Kolkata port in West BengalKolkata: Central intelligence agencies had warned Indian government for terror threat in the port area of West Bengal’s Kolkata.

Intelligence input warned that Pakistani terrorists are likely to use small boats to carry out an attack. After the warning of agencies, the police have increased security in the port area of the city.

The central intelligence agency alert for a possible terror strike reads, “possible terror threat and uncorroborated input indicate that Pakistani terrorists might carry out an attack on the Kolkata port in West Bengal”.

Some navy elements of Pakistan too may help terrorists.

Meanwhile no further information is currently available including the nature and timing of the possible attack.

The higher authorities of Kolkata had enhanced the security cover after the agencies input in the city especially in the vulnerable port areas.

A senior Kolkata police official said, “We have beefed up security in the port area and have put the entire city under security blanket.”
