Saina Nehwal, Kidambi Srikanth Win China Open Super SeriesChaina : Kidambi Srikanth recorded a rare feat by an Indian when he beat home favourite and two-time Olympic champion Lin Dan (21-19, 21-17) to win the China Open Super Series tournament on Sunday. This was the biggest win of his career so far.

China: India’s K. Srikanth stunned Lin Dan 21-19, 21-17 to clinch the China Open Super Series Premier title in Fuzhou. Srikanth beat home favourite Lin Dan of China to record the biggest wins in his career.

Meanwhile, Saina Nehwal beat Japanese qualifier Akane Yamaguchi in straight sets in the China Open Super Series Premier to win her third title of the year. The Olympic bronze-medallist Saina Nehwal clinched the USD 700,000 China Open Super Series Premier tournament after beating young Akane Yamaguchi of Japan in the summit clash on Sunday.

The World No. 5 Indian prevailed over the 17-year-old Akane 21-12 22-20 in the women’s singles finals which lasted 42 minutes at the Haixia Olympic Sport Center. This is Saina’s third title of the year as the Indian had won the Australian Super Series in June, besides clinching the Syed Modi International Grand Prix Gold early in the year.
