#PM #Modi remembers sacrifices of armed forces on #Vijay #DiwasNew Delhi: #Prime #Minister #Narendra Modi remembered the army personnel who fought courageously in the #1971 war of #India and #Pakistan and expressed his pride over the sacrifices and valour of the armed forces on Tuesday, Vijay Diwas.

Prime Minister Modi #tweeted, “On Vijay Diwas, we remember sacrifices and valour of our Armed Forces who fought courageously in 1971. We are extremely proud of them.”

Notify that #Defence Minister #Manohar #Parrikar along with the #Army #Chief Gen. #Dalbir Singh #Suhag, #Navy Chief #RK #Dhowan and #Air #Force Chief #Arup #Raha had also paid tribute at the “Amar Jawan Jyoti”.

Notify that on December 16, 1971, the eastern commander of the Pakistan Army, Lt. Gen. #Amir #Abdullah Khan Niazi, along with 93,000 #troops, had surrendered unconditionally to the allied forces consisting of the Indian Army and the #Mukti Bahini, led by Lt. Gen. Jagjit Singh Aurora in Dhaka after their defeat in the war.

The end of war had result the creation of #Bangladesh.
