#NewDelhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi had demanded for a written reply from the leaders of Bharatiya Janata party who denied campaigning in Delhi for upcoming Assembly elections.
Some media reports on Tuesday claimed that PM Modi had demanded from BJP leaders reply as some leaders had denied to campaign in Delhi.
Earlier Modi had asked the party leaders to aggressively campaign for the Delhi Assembly polls.
Notify that Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party is the main opponent of BJP in Delhi.
The saffron party had won 31 Assembly seats in 2013 Delhi polls, AAP 28 and Congress 8.
The sharp reaction of PM Modi had come after BJP leaders failed to achieve the target of attending hold 2,700 public meetings across the city.
Reports say that in a meeting held between BJP President Amit Shah and the Delhi BJP leaders and office bearers in November, it was decided that all the party parliamentarians would hold 2,700 public meetings across the city.
Sources said that figure has been reduced to around 1,400 a month later.
The BJP has set a target of 60-seat goal in Delhi.
